Stopmotion Animation

What is stopmotion animation? Actually there are several great movie nowadays that uses such concept. Some fail to notice, and just don't care. It's a process of...

taking pictures of some models, move the models a lil and take another. When enough pictures have been gathered, the pictures will then be edited and rendered into a video with added voice audio, sound effects and musics. Voila! You have yourself a stopmotion animation.

Your model can be anything you wish to use. Let it be clay, puppets, fruits, lego pieces...ANYTHING! All you need is you creativity.

Let's take some examples like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit and Pingu. All these examples I picked uses clay for the characters. Some of them use the clay in modeling the whole scene. The trees, animals, objects and many more.

The video below is an example of stopmotion using a man as the character while "interacting" with the animated post it notes

This next video is another example of the stopmotion animation that uses lego pieces. Edited by...oh...wait...me! hahaha v(^_^)

This video uses almost up to 500 pics plus a video footage and out of that many pictures I only get a few minutes of video. Even so, it ain't that smooth. My 2nd stopmotion animation is this one...

Uses 551 pics and a few video footage. Include the credits and i still get only up to 2 minutes plus.

The big q is about those bigtime movies that are smoother and far more better. Not to mention they're bout a couple of hours. How many pictures do they use to make a movie? Hmmm...
