My Video Project

Two weeks of editing and shooting. Making such a stopmotion video requires plenty of patience and perseverance but it sure was fun making it. It's not perfect but it sure is something.

In one of my posts, I happen to explain basically what Stopmotion is. But that only covers the usage of photos. Another form of medium used to create another kind of stopmotion is to use video footage instead. This idea is first introduced to me by MysteryGuitarMan in one of his videos. It really caught my attention. Here is one of the stopmotion videos that he made:

When it was time to make this video I remembered that I got one small problem, I have no singing or guitar playing talents. So I turn to VeryTasteful to make a lip syncing. Why him? It's cuz his pop songs are so catchy and nice that's why.

To spice this video up, I use vertical shooting which explains why one character in this video only have a small space shown.

Why this song? it just seemed perfect to me to try out the stopmotion, and it did. I was first introduced this song when I was watching Scott Pilgrim VS The World. Got the soundtrack and that's where I found this song. O Katrina by Black Lips. (I didn't own the song)

For each character I render the video footage into four different videos using Sony Vegas Pro 11. One for the vocalist, one for the guitarist, bassist and the backup singer. That's where the stopmotion and coloring process happens and I tell ya, it's not easy (Which explains why some of them have a slight difference in timing). After I complete all those clips, I used Adobe After Effects CS6 to make the clips dance around and include the lyrics in it. There you have it.

Thanks for visiting my blog and enjoy the vid. (^_^)
